While WordPress allows automatic plugin installation, you can also install plugins manually. This process involves downloading the plugin .zip file, uploading it to WordPress, and activating it.

Before you begin: Make sure you have already downloaded the plugin .zip file to your computer.

Step-by-Step Instructions

  1. Log in to your WordPress Dashboard.

  2. From the left-hand menu, navigate to Plugins > Add New.

  3. Click Upload Plugin, then click Browse. Select the plugin .zip file from your computer and click Install Now.

  4. Once installed, click Activate Plugin to enable it.

Notes

  • After activation, the plugin may add a new menu item or settings page to your Dashboard menu.

  • Always ensure the plugin is compatible with your WordPress version to avoid conflicts.

  • Plugins can be deactivated or deleted later if no longer needed.
