An SSL (Secure Socket Layer) certificate secures the connection between your website and your visitors’ browsers. Using SSL ensures that sensitive information, such as contact form submissions or online purchases, is encrypted and protected.

It is now considered best practice to load all websites over HTTPS rather than HTTP. Visitors will see a secure padlock in their browser, indicating that your site is safe to use.

Free SSL Certificates with AutoSSL

Cyber Edge Hosting provides free SSL certificates via AutoSSL for all shared hosting accounts. You can easily issue these certificates directly from your cPanel.

Accessing cPanel

You will need your cPanel username and password to access the interface. There are two ways to log in:

  1. From your Client Area: Navigate to the Hosting section and select cPanel.

  2. Directly via your domain: Add /cpanel to the end of your domain URL, e.g.,

    https://example.com/cpanel

Then log in with your cPanel credentials.

Issuing SSL Certificates

  1. Once logged into cPanel, scroll to the Security section and click SSL/TLS Status.

  2. All your domains are included in AutoSSL by default.

  3. To issue or renew certificates for all domains, click Run AutoSSL.

Tip: AutoSSL runs automatically once per day and will replace any certificates nearing expiration, including non–Let’s Encrypt certificates.

Notes

  • After issuing SSL, your site can be accessed securely via https://.

  • SSL helps improve search engine rankings and builds trust with your visitors.

  • AutoSSL handles renewals automatically, so you don’t need to manually manage your certificates.
